Best Budget Priced Quality Pellet Gun For Hunting Small Sized Game Including Birds, Rabbits & Squirrels

Black Ops Tactical Sniper .22 Caliber Gas-Piston Break Barrel Air Rifle

Black Ops Tactical Sniper Gas-Piston Air Rifle

The Black Ops Tactical Sniper Rifle is a really nice air rifle at a budget price, and is a highly realistic copy of the sniper rifles used by law enforcement around the world.  The low cost of this exceptional performing, powerful, accurate and quality gas piston air rifle, definitely makes it a contender for small game hunters, Doomsday preppers, and long term survivalists. The Break Barrel Sniper Rifle from Black Ops USA is a high powered pellet gun with looks as impressive as its performance. Engineered with Power Piston Technology, the Break Barrel Sniper Rifle fires .22 caliber (5.5mm) pellets up to 1,000 FPS with incredible consistency. Unlike most tactical air guns, this one will deliver very good accuracy since it has a rifled barrel. After all, what use is a gun if it's not accurate? Snipers need surgical precision for all their shots, so they never use open sights. The included adjustable bi-pod and 4x32 scope ensure accuracy, and the top-mounted 6 inch picatinny rail is ready for your choice of optics. The 4x32 scope should meet all your needs for hunting. In fact, hunters generally prefer low-magnification scopes because it gives them a wider field of view. That makes it easier to acquire targets. The Break Barrel Sniper Rifle from Black Ops USA is solidly built and ready for action, with an included 1 year warranty.  The manufacturer claims this gun delivers .20-inch groups (center-to-center) at 10 meters.  This is a break barrel air rifle, but the manufacturer has installed a bolt to give this air gun a more authentic tactical look. The bolt is non-functional.  If you're into tactical-looking airguns, this is one of the most realistic ones we've seen.  Hunters and Doomsday Preppers will appreciate the Black Ops Tactical Sniper Air Rifle for hunting animals such as turkeys, raccoons, possum, rabbits, squirrels, and birds.

The Black Ops Tactical Sniper Gas-Piston Air Rifle ranks #9 in our Top Ten Best Air Rifles & Pellet Guns list.  From a "what you get for the money" perspective, it is #1.
  • Black Ops Tactical Sniper Air Rifle - Summary
    • Pros
      • Extremely well made, durable, heavy duty gas piston air rifle for the money.  A great value - this rifle should cost more.
      • Very accurate, heavy hitting tight groups right out of the box out to 75+ yards.
      • Very powerful for a break barrel.
      • Included folding bipod make it extremely easy to shoot and the (heavy) weight of the gun makes it easy on the cheek.

    • Cons
      • Relatively hard to cock and heavy.  Not for smaller weaker shooters and cumbersome to tote in the woods.
      • Relatively long, heavy, stiff (but consistent) trigger.
      • Could use a better scope than the included fixed 4x32 scope.
      • Pistol hand grip is a little larger than an AR15 hand grip and may be too large for anyone with medium to small sized hands.

BLACK OPS Sniper Rifle - Air Rifle Review

Sample Amazon & Pyramid Air Feedback

"By far the best air rifle I have ever owned. Amazingly better than Gamo, Crosman, Ruger, Umarex, Benjamin, Hatsan air rifles in the same price range in just about every category. Great for plinking, small game hunting, and perfect air rifle for purchasing upgrades for. Put a high quality scope on this thing and it will shoot with amazing accuracy from 100+ yards out. There are also Picatinny/Weaver rails on both sides of the rifle as well as on top. So you could also attach a flashlight on one side, a laser on the other, or any other creative combinations. Having owned many air rifles since I was a child, this is by far the best I have had apart from some $1,000+ PCP air rifles I've owned. Considering this is nearly 1/10 the price, I'd say go for it.

"This rifle I found to be extremely well made for the money. The break barrel is manageable with one hand for cocking and the recoil is absorbed very well due to the design. Indeed this is a tack driver and after chronographing I found the advertised FPS is very close to specification. Adjustments can be made for optimum comfort for any shooter. The scope took a bit bit of time to properly sight in. But at 25 yards I was grouping one on top of the other. I rate this a solid 5 stars across the board."

"This in the .22 package is by far the best break barrel air rifle I have ever owned. I unboxed it extremely pleased took one look through the scope jumped in my car went straight to local gun store and bought a 3x9 x 50 scope. It took less than 12 shots to pin point accuracy at 30 yards. I'm talking dime sized groups. The trigger is better than the crosman trigger, but the crosman trigger has never been an issue for me. As far as what I liked, everything absolutely everything but the scope. If for those who money is hard to come by the scope will work just fine. The bipod is cool and works just fine. The things I liked...the looks, the feel.  Really though the power and accuracy.  Buy this this gun before they realize they can get A LOT more for it."

"If you want power accuracy tactical looking rifle, this sniper gun is for you, now in .22 cal power piston.  Best gun on the market for money!"

"Just as previous posts, value for the money. Once zeroed with different scope, plugging silver dollar size bulls @ 30 yards! Should do just fine in the woods."

"I have bought a couple of airguns in the past which were twice the money. I can't say enough on how well made, accurate and cool this gun looks. You just can't beat it for the money. The scope that it comes with is alright for the time being. I would recommend you upgrade the scope. Other than that this gun for the money is a beast."

"I like that it holds up as well with shooting as to the .177 Cal version. The gun is great the only down side is the scope But do to the price and the gun it is a great setup. If you buy a good scope for this it is a very deadly gun. I was able to setup a target to day at 35 yards and shot 5 .22 Cal pellets the H&N Crow Magnum .22 Cal, 18.21 Grains, Hollowpoint, 200ct, 5.5 mm This gun did well with them with a group of 5 shots within a quarter size group. that is nice to see."

"Good looking rifle. Fun to shoot. Very accurate. Hard hitting."

"Since I want this review to be about the gun and not the scope, let's get that rant out of the way first. I will never understand why a manufacturer would bundle such a poor scope with an outstanding gun like this. It's basically a toy, wont hold zero, and is a complete waste of time. When you order the gun, order a decent scope as well, the gun deserves it. I bet a lot of people return this and other guns just because of the scope. It might turn someone new to the sport against airguns. With that out of the way, airguns have been my hobby for many years and I have a bunch of them. This might well be the most accurate out of the box air rifle I have ever had. I cleaned the barrel and shot it a few times just to make sure everything worked OK. I mounted the cheap scope and used Loctite on the screws. Next day I sighted it in and within nine shots I put 3 in the bullseye at 30 yards. Within a few shots the scope had lost zero and started shooting to the left. I threw that scope away and mounted a 4-16 x 40 mm Center Point from Walmart. It has held zero for about 200 shots so far. I can put 8 or 9 shots in the bullseye from 30 yards every time and when the gun settles down ( still dieseling just a little ) I expect it to get better. The gun feels solid. It's a little heavy but since the weight is listed in the specifications, that should be no surprise. The trigger is long and stiff, I hope that improves with time. I bought this gun in .22 because I plan to do some small game hunting with it. For that reason I didn't mount the bi-pod and probably wont. The gun shoots hard. I don't have a chronograph but comparing it to the known velocity of some of my other guns I'm guessing it's around 900fps. The only pellets I have used are the 14.3 g Crosman hollow points from Walmart. I highly recommend this gun."
