Watch video "live" as you fly this powerful and fast quadcopter.  This is likely the best low cost First Person View (FPV) quadcopter drone that you can buy.  Keep an eye on your property with the included 2MP HD camera. The JJRC H8C is a blast to fly.  Check out the YouTube videos below to see this amazing quadcopter in action.

Why you might need it

In a Doomsday survival scenario, a quad copter with camera could perform safe surveillance & reconnaissance missions on your property or surrounding area. That is especially important if you have less people in your group. Also the surveillance can be done much faster and safer than with people. Although you can fly horizontally and vertically with this bad boy, the camera can see very far just by flying this quadcopter straight up and spinning it around. If you have never flown a quad copter, you can start out with the JJRC H8C, but I recommend that you start out with the Syma X5C-1 quadcopter drone first as it is the best entry level quadcopter and easiest model to learn how to fly them. The JJRC H8C is very powerful and fast and is equipped with 6-axis gyro system which allows it to fly very stable and with precision. The JJRC H8C can be hand launched and it is perfect for both indoor and outdoor flight.  Flight functions are up/down, left/right, sideward flight, forward/backward, turn left/right; The power and weight of the JJRC H8C allows it to fly easier in the wind compared to smaller less powerful quadcopter drones.  The JJRC H8C features an LCD monitor on the controller, and it comes with 4 flexible plastic covers to protect the blades, although you can take these off to make the quadcopter lighter and faster.  You also have the ability to change the camera angle, which is a nice feature.  The JJRC H8 C has a 7.4V 500mAh battery enabling flight time up to 8 minutes and it takes about 90 minutes to charge a battery. So get a few spare batteries and you'll have plenty of flying time.  The JJRC H8C quadcopter drone can do a complete 360 degree flip in 4 directions, it has special functions (continuous rolling), and it can fly hundreds of feet high and has flashing LED lights that can be turned on or off manually during night flights. It's a fast flyer. However, if you take off the camera, guards, and skids, it flies even faster and is a blast to fly for the sport of just flying it. The JJRC H8C has a dual mode for beginner flyers and advance pilots.   The horizontal range is approximately up to 80 meters (up to 260 ft).

Added tip

Start with a Syma X5C-1 quadcopter drone (a great quad for a beginner), and then upgrade to a JJRC H8C quadcopter (a great quad for an intermediate). Both of these quadcopter models are very inexpensive. Once you learn how to fly a quadcopter, if you really need to upgrade to the much better quadcopters, check out the high end DJ Phantom Vision quadcopter and likely the best top end DJI Inspire1 models. Extra batteries are a must with the JJRC H8C. Your flight time will be up to 8 minutes on average.  Requires micro SD 2GB card (included) for camera. Battery for remote controller: 4 x AA batteries (not included). One of the only complaints of the JJRC H8C are that it will eventually burn up the motors.  So be sure to see the last YouTube video below on how to replace the motors and buy some spare motors (they are inexpensive - see recommended accessories).  Note: With the Syma X5C-1 and the JJRC H8C quadcopters, you can not see the video or pictures live. The recording is retrieved after the flight from the micro SD card. For live onboard video, you'll have to upgrade to an FPV quadcopter such as the ultra small Hubsan H107D FPV X4 Mini RTF Quadcopter, the WLtoys V686G, the JJRC H9D, or to a higher end quadcopter, such as the DJI Phantom 2 Vision Quadcopter with an integrated first person viewer (FPV) Camcorder which allows live remote video streaming from up to 980 feet away. Still the Syma X5C-1 is a great quadcopter drone for a beginner, it will take videos for you, and is a lot of fun to fly.

Sample Amazon Feedback

"Best drone on the market for this price point... 5 stars."

"This is a great inexpensive quadcopter for lifting a small camera. This was my first time flying one of these things and I can easily fly it several hundred feet up with a Mobius Action Cam attached. This is the most fun I've had in a long time."

"A must have flyer....Out of my 20 quads this one is a eye catcher. Night flying is great with all the LED's. Very stable, easy to control, very responsive, low priced for all you get. When needed parts are easy to replace and affordable. Video play-back is clear and sharp. It's a must have affordable flyer."

"This is an excellent stable Quad, it does everything as expected. I have taken nice video of the sun set. It is also a great night flyer does well in moderate wind. The Headless mode function is cool too. I get about 8-10 minutes flight time.  I bought an extra battery and I get my fix for the flight. Awesome, would buy it again.  I think I might get the white one!"

" bought this quadracopter for my eleven-year old son. I have been extremely impressed with its power, controllability, and ease of flight. We find it easily controllable in up to 10 mph wind outdoors! The translated manual is a little difficult to interpret. For outdoors flight you can set the controls for higher responsiveness and higher translation rates. The battery lasts about 10 minutes of flight time with the LEDs on and the video camera recording. Charge time from zero to full charge is about 100 minutes. The video camera quality is adequate for fun viewing. There is no streaming video; you have to remove the SD card after flight to download the video. The included landing skids and blade guards are very effective. We have not yet dinged a single prop blade after lots of crashes indoors and outdoors. In the event you do damage it, the box comes with replacement blades. All in all this is a surprisingly good value for the price!"

"Great quad for intermediate flyers....After reading and watching a number of reviews I decided to buy this quad. The quad itself is beautiful and the LEDS make night flying a lot easier. The quad is very stable and easy to fly and because of the 7.4V battery and the option to select different speed modes flying in the wind is fairly easy, the camera is okay quality but I really love the ability to adjust the camera angle....Overall it's a great quad but I would not recommend it to a first time quad flyer.  If you are familiar with flying a quad this drone will be perfect for you, if you are someone looking for a first time quad I would recommend the Syma X5C-1 it has most of the features but it isn't as powerful making it a great first time quad."

"A quad that delivers performance for its price.  So far, (with my limited experience), I have found this quad to be a good value for the money. It is responsive and flies well. It is a good beginning quadcopter on which you can gain valuable experience before moving on to a more demanding and expensive quad."

"It is indeed the Syma X5C Killer. Its bigger, heavier and more powerful. For the price you just cant do better."

"Fun little drone. Lots of power compared to the syma x5c. Controller needs improvement but it could be worse. Buy spare motors cause they will eventually fail. Good product for price."

"Love it for the price.  Don't expect that you are buying a JDI Phantom but also don't think that you are getting a gas station or a Wal Mart quadcopter... Way better than the cheap ones you can buy and not as good as the JDI copters either..... I love this quadcopter for the price to get used to flying a decent one before I change to JDI.... All I can say is YouTube it and get your information correct about the JJRC H8C, I love it!!!!"

"....The H8C worked well for me as a beginner. Two tips - Most people will adapt better to a Mode 2 control. That is, one where the throttle stick is on the left. Also, when using the right stick to control the direction, try just bumping it a little bit at a time to get the desired response. These aircraft move very freely through the air and too much control input will cause the copter to move further than desired. Moving in small steps will help to avoid that along with the crashes that can result! Once you get used to the control, you can try flying a bit more fluidly."
