"The best heavy duty brush cutter money can buy . Came very sharp out of the box . Has stood up to everything i have thrown at it and has just kept going . Just buy it ."
"...Chopping with this item tool is much more comfortable than with the standard machete. Since the majority of the weight is at the head of the blade, I feel like the blade is doing the majority of the work as opposed to my arm....I can whole-heartily recommend this item for any trailblazers out there or those who need to do light clearing work...."
"This knife has proven to be quite handy. I have used it mostly for chopping branches and cutting down small trees. The knife is built solid and the blade is weighted enough to carry through branches and saplings in one strike. This is a good knife in comparison to machetes and corn knives I have owned and used, but I think because of its size and design it will be much more versatile and useful."
"....The knife is awesome. The cutting action is simply superb and it just feels like it will last forever. If I want it cut, I can do it with this. I first decided to test the knife with a 2 1/2" PVC pipe I had laying around to see what it could do; I easily made repeated 2-inch slices just by hand-holding the pipe in one hand and swinging down with the knife in the other. After 8 clean-cut, thin slices with only 8 easy swings, I was in love....Cutting brush is a one-swing affair, 4" branches were done, although admittedly it was a bit of a workout. I also admit that I was originally concerned with the length of this knife, thinking that it might be too short having used machetes in the past; I was pleasantly surprised to find out I was wrong. When it works, it works, and any misconceptions I had about bigger is better were quickly proven wrong... guess the saying is true!..."
"This is the best damn tree and brush trimming tool I've ever seen..!! It fits my hand as if I'd designed it for myself. Balance is blade heavy and perfect for heavy duty work. Works better than a hatchet. It keeps an edge better than any other machete-type blade I've owned.. Plus, this Ka-Bar blade could easily double as a combat weapon without modifications. Frankly I've been a Cold Steel guy for decades, Buck blades back when they had good steel decades ago. While I still like Cold Steel blades, I'll certainly take a look at Ka-Bar products after this. Forget the cheap machetes and get something that WORKS..!!!!! This Ka-Bar Machete Kukri Model 1249 really works..!!"
"I've used several and so far, this one works as described. I was able to cut anything from 1/2 inch to 3 inches and the blade held up great.
Seems much more sturdy then the others I've tried and seems to hold up very well. I'll buy Ka-Bar over the others any day."
"I'm ready for the zombie apocalypse. This kukri is super sharp, I worry about the slight chance I will accidentally hack off one of my own limbs. My only complaint is that it did not come with its own lanyard. I WILL be attaching some 550 paracord to it because without it there is a very good chance i'll end up flinging it across the yard especially if my hands are sweaty."
"....The steel used is also beautiful. It goes through 2-inch branch's in no time. Heaps more effective then an axe because of the curve and equal angular momentum... the shape also allows more accurate placement of the blade - further reducing the cutting time. I love this product. Get it. You won't regret it."
"this thing is awesome scary deadly. I haven't killed anything or anyone with it. its really more for a collection for me, but its definitely built really well and comes sharp as s***. it would be great for chopping in the woods/survival."
"WOW really nice! I have SOG & a Greber machete but the Ka-bar is better by far. A little shorter than the others but very stout and the grip is far better than the others. Two things that I don't like about it is the sheath is kinda cheap and it's made in Taiwan, but I still give it 5 stars. Worth way more than the price."
"*******A BEAST OF A WEAPON OR TOOL****** I purchased 2 of these for over the holiday season...I honestly purchased them for home protection the plan was to hide them around the house after sharpening them up real good...I am an avid juicer and decided to use this on a pineapple and a few other things I brought...I realized just how bad a$$ these Ka-Bar 1249 are when I tried it on a coconut...Like butter one swipe took off the whole top...Amazing weight, balance just a great piece of equipment....If you swung one of these at a human the damage would be lethal...Outside of a finger by accident if this thing makes contact with anything else it's coming off...This is by no means is a small piece of nothing...This is a mean, extremely well balanced slightly heavy knife that if not paying attention at all times while in your hand could have serious consequences...Firstly understand this knife NEEDS A LANYARD !!! If you drop this and it hits your foot (In my best Jersey accent ~ forgetaboutit ~ Lanyard is a must...With a cheap stone and maybe 20/30 strokes this is a mean knife...."
