Summary Of The Top Two DJI Drones For Preppers

  1. DJI Air 2S (Our Favorite)

    • Newest and best model in the Mavic series. Very similar in many ways to the Mavic Air 2.

    • Uses the optional $35 STARTRC Payload Release System that works directly from the DJI Air 2S or Mavic Air 2 remote control. The system includes night lights and more stable landing gear.

    • DJI Air 2S improvements over the excellent Mavic Air 2, make it worth the approx. $200 extra cost.

      • 1" Sensor (compared to a 1/2" sensor on the Mavic Air 2)

      • Air 2S has improved obstacle avoidance (adds a pair of top sensors to the front, rear and bottom sensors on the Mavic Air 2)

        • The Air 2S is super capable and a super fast flyer that will avoid obstacles and crashing, so you don't need to be an expert drone pilot.

      • Air 2S adds MasterShots (an incredibly sophisticated software that automates professional camera shots)

      • Air 2S increases video maximum range from 10km to 12km

        • NOTE: In the 2nd YouTube video below, the Drone range was limited by available battery (slightly over 4 miles from operator)

      • Air 2S has digital zoom due to an improved 5.4K resolution.

    • Since the Air 2S has more sensors, more capable camera, and slightly heavier body, the flight time does drop from a maximum 34 minutes to 31 minutes, which is still a very good flight time compared to all consumer drones.
